No Impact Man follows one man who's goal is to live sustainably in New York City for a year. This means eating vegetarian, buying only local food, and turning off the refrigerator. It also means no elevators, no television, no cars, buses, or airplanes, no toxic cleaning products, no electricity, no material consumption, and no garbage. The film portrays the strains and strengthened bonds this radical lifestyle change creates for Colin and his family, and the extraordinary impact one man’s actions can have on the environment.
