Free Rice gives you a word and four possible definitions from which you choose which one you think is correct. It's a fun game, but also gives you the chance to donate rice to the world's poor through the UN's World Food Programme. Each correct answer you give provides 20 grains of rice to a hungry person. The more you answers correctly the more rice is donated. It's an easy and fun way to be part of a solution to ending hunger.

More than 860 million people across the world go without food every day, causing a host of health and security problems for families and children. Many countries in which a large portion of the population battles with hunger and poverty issues often lack the tools and money needed to support these families, leaving them with nowhere to turn for help.

Many countries rely on the donations of food from nonprofit organizations and groups like the World Food Programme to help sustain their citizens in ways that they cannot do alone.

Playing games like Free Rice are an easy way for you support these efforts to bring food to people who need it most. Through playing the game, the site donates their advertising income to the UN's World Food Programme, which brings much-needed rice donations to countries around the world.
