Email Updates

Email updates provide a worldwide perspective on the Action Center mission to alleviate suffering, poverty, and oppression around the globe. In order to receive these updates you must provide the Action Center with your name and email address. This information will be held in complete confidence, and we will NOT sell, rent or trade this information to a third party. You will be given the option to remove your name from our email list at the bottom of each email update.

Online Donations

Your online donations are safe and secure. The Action Center uses industry-standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption to protect the confidentiality of your personal information and the security of your transaction. Our donations are processed through a 3rd-party service, CharityWeb, which is a VeriSign-authorized vendor. At this time, we do not use PayPal.

Our goal is to forge a long-term partnership with you, and we value and appreciate the trust that accompanies your online donation. If you donate online, your information will never be sold or rented to a third party (see exception below in "Donations by Mail").

To serve you better, we may contact you in the future to inform you about the Action Center's response to the needs of the world's suffering people. We will offer various contact options, so you can choose how often you hear from us. Action Center to End World Hunger will remove your name from our mailing list, email list or telephone solicitation list at any time, at your request.

Action Center uses the services of outside vendors to send our email newsletters and to complete the online donation process. These vendors adhere to Action Center's commitment to privacy and security. However, if you should have a concern, please contact us directly, and we will do our utmost to correct the problem.

Donations by Mail

In order to increase our base of support and keep our costs low, the Action Center sometimes exchanges a segment of our mailing list with other carefully selected organizations. At least once a year, we will inform all donors who are eligible to be included on the exchange list, and give them an opportunity to opt out of future exchanges. Donors who wish to have their names removed from the exchange list can call (212) 537-0500 or email info@actioncenter.org.

Why do we ask for an age?

The Action Center website is a general audience site and does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age.

What am I agreeing to when I submit an image?

We do not own the images you submit to us, but by submitting an image, you grant us permission free of charge to include it on the website and for the other uses referred to in this information. You should not send an image if the person who created the image (i.e. took the photo) or who is included in the image would object to this. We are not obliged to use the image and may remove it at any time at our sole discretion.

How will we protect your privacy?

We aim to protect your personal details. To that end the information on the website will not include your family name, unless you have specifically asked us to or included it within the image and unless we agree. Only the images and other material to be included on the website will be disclosed. However, we do have the right to disclose additional details if we consider it necessary to comply with a governmental request or legal, or regulatory, obligation.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate the website and/or remove any of the images on it at any time.

Use of Third-Party Software

Action Center to End World Hunger occasionally uses evaluative software to measure and analyze website statistics. We use this information to improve our content and structure, leading to a better user experience.
